The Sigma Series by Ascendent is designed by Ascendent specifically for border, coast, pipeline and perimeter protection. This multi-sensor camera system offers a radical approach and significant advantages over conventional camera systems. Boasting both thermal and optical imagers with ZLID illumination delivers long range recognition and identification in virtually any environment. This includes heavy fog and complete darkness. The wide-angle thermal imager detects threats to provide unparalleled situational awareness to properly assess potential hazards, and threats at great distances. The high-resolution optical camera provides superior detail over thermal imaging to identify threats even in complete darkness with the aid of the ZLID laser illuminator.

Optical Camera
The Sigma Series PTZ delivers long range day/night surveillance. Its powerful 46-1010mm motorized zoom lens can detect intruders at distances of up to 12km. The high-output, ZLID IR illuminator provides recognition for up to 3km in complete darkness. Ascendent's Sigma Series doesn't just detect threats but it obtains a level of detail to identify threats making it the clear choice for military and critical infrastructure protection.

Ultra Long Range Illumination
Ascendent's ZLID (Zoom Laser IR Diode) Active IR module combines laser diode technology, quality precision optics and sophisticated electronics. This synergy provides ultra long range active IR illumination greatly exceeding both the performance and distance of traditional IR LED illumination. The ASCLIR3000M-810 (IR Laser) synchronizes IR intensity and area illumination with motorized zoom optics for flawless active IR performance. This eliminates overexposure, washout and hotspots for unparalleled performance to recognize and identify threats even in complete darkness .

Thermal Imaging
Unlike optical systems, which like the human eye requires light, thermal imaging uses infrared electromagnetic radiation 900-14,000 nm wavelengths (heat) to produce images. All objects that are above -213C emit infrared radiation, the amount of radiation emitted is proportional to the temperature of the objects and thermal imaging detects these minute temperature variations and thus accurately reproduces the scene. Since all objects emit infrared radiation a thermal imager is able to "see" the environment regardless of lighting conditions making ideal for ultra long range detection.

Panoramic viewing
The sigma Series are comprised of high quality precision engineered components to offer absolute performance. The optics payload is firmly seated on a heavy duty PT driver implements brushless motor technology for endless 360 panning and tilting in increments as low as .01 degree. This in tandem the 1010mm zoom lens allows the Sigma camera to secure vast areas without sacrificing performance while delivering a high ROI.

Rugged Robust
The Sigma series is comprised of military grade precision engineered components and are manufactured using unique processes to offer absolute performance. All these components are integrated into rugged IP 66-68 Nema 4X enclosures constructed out of military grade components to withstand the most brutal assaults and extreme climates (-40°C~60°C) ffor 24/7 operation in mission critical applications.

Gyro Stabilized (optional)
The M-Navigator is equipped with state-of-the-art muti-gyro gimbal platform that keeps the sensor payload firmly stabilized, giving you clear images without degradation of the image typically caused by moving vehicles or wind osculation.

Radar Integration: “Slew-to-Cue”
A superbly effective and strategic solution uses radars in tandem with pan and tilt imagers (visible
CCD and thermal) and software technology to automate many of the critical challenges that
the security force faces. This allows trained personnel to react in real-time and relay critical information to tactical responders. This solution automatically detects and tracks moving objects and positions the camera to focus on the object. If the tracked object moves into a blind spot or out of a camera’s view, it will be picked up automatically by another camera and tracking will continue seamlessly.

As with all of Ascendent's integrated Electro-optical camera systems, the Sigma Series can be customized and built to suit any application whether it be marine or military, fixed or rapid deployment.
