PoE switches provides power and data with a single Cat5 cable using Power over Ethernet (PoE). This makes for easy IP camera installations be negating the need for separate power supplies, cable runs, and data cables. The advanced auto-sensing algorithm only gives power to IEEE802.3af/at devices, to avoid damaging non-PoE equipment.
The SW/SPL-6-GB-POE-AT-60W-280M can also power PoE+ (IEEE802.3at) IP PTZ cameras such as the 2MP-PTZ-30X-IR-CS. When used in CCTV mode, PoE distance is extended to distances up to 280M (Throughput is limited to 10Mbps).
The SW/SPL-6-GB-POE-AT-60W-280M can also be powered by PoE from another switch or injector, allowing it to be essentially used as a PoE splitter to power multiple IP cameras on a single cable run.
Please verify the total wattage requirements of all IP cameras before connecting to the switch. The SW/SPL-6-GB-POE-AT-60W-280M can provide up to 60 watts of PoE power.
Note: The SW/SPL-6-GB-POE-AT-60W-280M does not come with a standard 48/57VDC power supply, this must be purchased separately if not being powered by PoE.
